Ralph Williams has sales and customer service in his blood. Prior to coming on board with IBR, Ralph had a successful career selling giftware.
However, Ralph always had an interest in selling real estate, and had some prior experience as a real estate investor. He saw real estate as a way to more fully utilize his skills, and provide the deeper level of service and technical expertise that real estate requires. He made his move to IBR in 2002.
The turning point for this Burnsville MN REALTOR’s career came when he was holding an open house. He met some Asian-speaking clients who were pleased with his service. A number of referrals to Asian speaking clients followed, and before long, Ralph had a large, loyal referral base among the Hmong community. The most interesting part of all of this is that Ralph does not know a single word of any Asian language.
Ralph recruited a Hmong interpreter and located title and mortgage companies that provided translators. Of course, clients are always free to choose their own title and mortgage companies, but it helps to be able to provide the names of some companies who furnish interpreters.
Ralph attributes his success to the fact that he is always willing to help anyone regardless of language or other charactersitics, and always treats everyone the same. He also believes is inability to speak Asian languages is actually an asset. His clients seem to enjoy the privacy that the language barrier provides.
