The IBR Long Lake office is looking for more agents, according to Tammy Wenz, an agent of nine years with Independent Brokers. For the last five years, she has managed a successful IBR Realty office on Wayzata Boulevard, and only expects continued success and more business. Unruffled by all of the “sky-is-falling” media reports about the real estate market, Tammy stays busy listing and selling residental properties, including townhomes, lake homes, investment properties, and single family homes, primarily in Long Lake and Wayzata. Her service area includes western Hennepin and eastern Wright counties, including the cities of Plymouth, Eden Prairie, Wayzata, Minnetonka, Long Lake, Orono, Independence, Medina, Delano, Montrose, Buffalo, Watertown, Maple Plain, among others. Tammy is a rental agent as well as a real estate investor with her own rental properties. She reports that even in her rental market, she has not seen a vacancy in quite some time.
“It’s just not true that homes in the Long Lake/Wayzata area are not selling. Properties that are clean, in good condition, and priced reasonably are selling. We are not seeing an overabundance of listings in our market, as reported in some of the outlying areas.” Tammy also reports that the townhome sector of the market is doing well in the Long Lake/Wayzata area. Market times are a bit longer, but the nice ones are certainly selling. One of the drawing cards for this area is the reputation of high demand area school districts like Orono, Minnetonka, Westonka, and Orono. The location along the north side of Lake Minnetonka and the convenience of Highway 12 also make this area popular among homebuyers.
