Ambitious Woodbury Minnesota REALTOR Casts a Big Net.

paul carlson woodbury mn realtor jpgPaul C. Carlson is a Woodbury MN REALTOR with ambition that cannot be contained by one state. IBR needed a good, hard-working agent for the eastern metro and western Wisocnsin area, and Paul was just the guy to answer the call.

The eastern metro area presented a special challenge for IBR. Frequently, Minnesota home buyers who are shopping in this area are also browsing for properties in Wisconsin. The result was a loss of continuity in service when buyers sought help from two different REALTORS; buyers would be working with a Wisconsin-licensed REALTOR and a Realtor licensed to practice in Minnesota. This fragmented service meant that both REALTORS would essentially be competing for the same client by promoting his/her state’s housing market as the better one.

The buyers needed a single agent who could help them gain perspective by showing them properties in both Minnesota and Wisconsin market. Also, differences between Wisconsin and Minnesota real estate laws, forms, and practices could become confusing without someone who could help them keep it all straight. Moreover, a REALTOR licensed to practice in both states could help them examine both real estate markets in a way that would allow them to compare “apples to apples.” The perspective of such a REALTOR would insure that their best interests were served. The REALTOR would have no incentive to favor one area over another. Clients would then get the help they needed to find the most suitable home in the area that would be best for them.

In addition, there were buyers who would be buying a home in one state and selling in the other. Those clients would end up working with two agents instead of one. Why not have an experienced agent who could help them in both states? The obvious benefits would be more consistent service and fewer communication problems.

Enter Paul C. Carlson, of Woodbury MN. After earning his Minnesota license, he decided to pick up a Wisconsin license as well. Although license requirements are more rigorous in Wisconsin, Paul just figured it would just make him a better agent, and it would give his interstate clients a huge advantage. He could give clients an objective view of market conditions on either side of the border. His new territory would now stretch from Woodbury MN and the Twin Cities all the way to Wisconsin communities like Balsam and New Richmond.

Paul’s first experiences came as a salaried loan officer. The position did offer some perks. He did not have to prospect for leads, cold-call, or create competitive marketing strategies. Clients were simply assigned directly to him by the company. However, this was actually a problem for Paul. You see, Paul is the kind of guy who likes to push and pull and make things go. He did not want his office environment to limit horizons. Paul always believed that he was responsible for his own success. He needed a career to match that belief.

As a loan officer, Paul observed differences in low production REALTORS and high-production ones. He saw that real estate was a place where more effort and hard work meant more income and business growth. This was just the career change he was looking for. After working as a buyer’s representative for a national franchise for two year, he made the switch to IBR Realty. Why did he switch? For Paul, this was a “no-brainer.” Paul was simply tired of working for a broker that took a large chunk of his commissions for little return.

If you are looking for a hard-working Woodbury MN REALTOR who know both sides of the river, give Paul C. Carlson a call (651) 260-6284.
